I finished Calorimetry…. Okay so I know that the pattern said gauge was important… and I know that I didn’t swatch, but what I want to know is HOW BIG IS THE MODEL’S HEAD!? I cast on LESS stitches than called for (same weight yarn, same size needles), because it was looking really wide. I then decreased FASTER than called for in the pattern, because it was looking too long.
So I figure my options are these: A.) Frog it… but knowing me, I won’t reknit the same pattern; B.) Sort of a cowl-type option [see first photo below] and add some buttons; or C.) Grammy Monica! [see second photo below]…
On a totally unrelated note, I like my new haircut! And excuse the crappy bathroom/after-long-day-at-work photos.

I deleted said project from my queue because of so many stories like yours. Sigh.
And both alternate versions are cute, but I’m betting you won’t go the Grammy option. ;)

Mine was like that and I used smaller yarn & smaller needles. So don’t feel bad. It’s obviously very sensitive to the whims of the knit gods. ;-)

Your hair is cute! And I think both of your alternates are nice, even if you probably wouldn’t wear it the second way. :P

Nice neck warmer! What kind of button do you envision with this?

Hey… Long time no chat… so sorry about the Calorimetry… I was wondering what your thoughts are on the Twilight Series… I totally loved it… but curious as to your thoughts… hope work is going well for you!!!

Your hair looks really cute. :)
Grammy Monica? SNOL I don’t think so! Sorry your project didn’t turn out the way it was supposed to, I’ve never done that pattern before.
But honestly, you head doesn’t look overly small, very normal to me. he he

I think the neckwarmer/cowl option is way cute! See, good things come from bad patterns sometimes!

The grammy option makes me want to sing “Matchmaker, matchmaker make me a match, find me a find….” Have you seen Fiddler on the Roof? (song from there)
I do like the cowl option tho. I’m thinking a large-ish pewter type button.
